Ocala District 2CBF auxiliary hosted a youth, young adult, and seasoned women tea during the last 5th Sunday Meeting under the leadership of Evangelist Brittany Montgomery. The purpose of the tea was to bridge the gap between young and seasoned women through teaching and mentorship. The women were able to connect, support, and inspire each other to be better women for God, their families, in school, as well as, their careers.

The ladies were able to meet and greet each other, eat refreshments, and connect over an ice breaker. Following the meet and greet, the ladies had the opportunity to hear words of encouragement from Sis. Kendra McKnight. She taught from the topic: “The Importance of Being Teachable”. Her scripture was from biblical text, Titus 2:3:3-5. She asked a question in the beginning. “By a show of hands who consider themselves a wise woman? By a show of hands who consider themselves a foolish woman?” She explained through the biblical text, “A wise woman builds her home, but a foolish woman tears it down with her own hands”, according to Proverbs 14:1.

Sis. McKnight shared the responsibilities and character traits of aged women, which include, “Be in behavior as becomes holiness, not false accusers, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things, teach young women to be sober, love their husbands, and love their children”.

In addition, Sis. McKnight shared how to love husbands if you are married. She shared the importance of covering them in prayer and affirming them often, respecting your husband in private as well as in public, fulfilling all marital duties, and be trustworthy.

Furthermore, for those who have children, she charged them to cover their children daily in prayer, teach them the word of God, and how to pray and love themselves. Sis. McKnight also shared the importance of being discreet. She charged all of the women to be mindful of our approach and how they speak to other women and that it is essential to make sure that you apologize and own when you are wrong. In relation to single women, she charged them with being chaste. She stated, “Refraining from extramarital, sexual intercourse, concubines, mistresses, sister-wives, clean up women, side-chicks and sneaky links”.

Sis. McKnight summed up her teaching by stating, “As women of God, we are without excuse, it is time that we take our place in our homes, without husbands and children to be the women of God that God has called us to be. It is important that we are accountable, sit under an older God-fearing and let her teach us in love how to be a godly woman, to be a good wife to your husband, a good mother to your children, to have integrity and godly character at home and in public, so that God’s word isn’t discredited.” We were honored to have special guests our Bishop’s Wife, Lady Delois McKnight, and our National 2CBF Advisor’s Wife, Minister Phyllis McKnight. It was truly a beautiful time in the Lord.
