Isaiah 61:3 (KJV)

To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.

Have you ever been in a place in your life in which you wanted to give up?

Have you ever thought you were unworthy of God’s love or any human being love?

Have you ever been in a deep, dark, desolate place and you couldn’t see the light?

Have you ever endured embarrassment because of a simple mistake you made that became a big deal at the hands of people?

I’m sure all of us can relate to one or more of these questions.

When we reflect back over our lives and look at the mistakes or bad choices we made there was always at least one good thing that came out of every bad situation.

At the time in which you were in the situation you may not have seen any good at the time but after reflection we always see how God got the glory out of our lives.

John 11:4 states, “When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.”

This is a prime example of God wanting to get the glory out of our lives. Though the situation may look bad at the time in which you’re in the midst of the storm but God is with us even in the bad situations. Matthew 28:20 states, “Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. “

We grow and mature when bad situations present themselves in our lives. In my personal life I am convinced that every bad choice I made or every negative thing I have encountered has caused me to grow and mature. We are to learn from our mistakes RIGHT??

God’s has gotten the glory out of my life on several occasions. The mistakes I made and the consequences that I had to endure, gave me a desire to live a life that is pleasing unto the Lord. It caused me to want to commit to God more. It taught me to appreciate his grace and his unconditional love. Most importantly it taught me to want to have a more intimate relationship with the father. These were the ways God got the glory out of the bad choices that I made in my life.

How did God get the glory in your life?

There was a young lady that was 21 when she became pregnant with her son. She was a junior in college. She was the daughter of a prominent pastor at the time. She had to get the courage to tell her family what had transpired. She felt like she had let God, her natural and church family, and all of the individuals that sowed into her life over the years, down. She was embarrassed, ashamed, depressed, perplexed, and stressed. She felt so far from God. She felt like this was the worst thing that she had ever done. To people looking at her situation from the natural perspective she was a failure. But to God this was the perfect opportunity to get her back in his hands. Jeremiah 18 enlightens us with wisdom on how God is the potter and we are simply the clay. It is he that shapes us and molds us into his own way, his will. This is exactly what God did to this young lady. He reminded her that he was in charge of her life and that he would get the glory out of this situation. After the birth of her son she rededicated her life to the Lord and has been running for him ever since. Her son is a reflection of her love and dedication to the Lord as he loves the Lord as much as she does at a very young age. God took the most embarrassing thing that brought so much shame and made the most beautiful thing, her son. God turned a bad situation into a beautiful situation.

In all things remember God must get the glory!!
