I am learning that peace is as important as your air supply.  Anything that jeopardizes it must be addressed and repositioned so that we have a free of flow of peace.  Our Father gives us peace.  It is His will that we be settled in our mind, heart and spirit so that we can experience His rest.  Therefore, it is imperative that we protect our peace at all costs.  This can be accomplished by maintaining communion with God.  While His peace is always available to us, we may have difficulty accessing it when we neglect our spirits and succumb to our carnality.  Feeding the flesh will only distance us from God because He communes with our spirits.

I am more thankful for the peace of God than anything else.  We are aware that as Christians, suffering is a part of our earthly journey.  So it is expected that we face unfavorable circumstances, misfortune, tragedy and mistakes.  But, it is beautiful to experience adversity and know that there is a peace that we can tap into that gives us the grace to withstand.  That is one of the benefits of our covenant with Christ.  He assures us that through whatever we face, we can cast our burdens on Him and He will carry the load.

Let us be reminded that God’s love is always there for us and one of the ways He shows us is by giving us peace as we undergo hardship.  Like the old hymn says, “whatever my lot, thou has taught me to say, it is well, it is well with my soul.”  If you want it to be well with you, tap in Father’s peace.  It works every time. If you struggle with a lack of peace, you may suffer from restlessness, insomnia, inability to focus or signs of depression.  Here is a prayer I wrote for peace.  In addition, click this link to a prayer for peace by

.  I pray they are blessings to you.

Dear God,

Thank you for making provision for moments like these.  I come to you feeling overwhelmed, out of control, stressed and anxious.  You told me to pray so here I am.  I bring to you all of my concerns that haunt me day and night.  I am troubled by the uncertainty of tomorrow, the fear of failure and tiredness from trying to keep it all together.  I know that faith without works is dead.  But sometimes as I work, I feel dizzy from the loudness in mind.  I feel insecure, unsure and unstable.

I know that hardship is a part of the cross that I must carry, but I ask you for a peaceful spirit that I may handle my challenges with grace.  As I go through, arrest my mind because I know that I lack the wisdom to navigate this on my own.  Give me the discipline to make right decisions so that I do not complicate matters.  Help me to forgive myself for the part I played and to forgive others if they let me down.  Lord, help me to allow you to straighten whatever or whoever because I know my own attempts have failed.  Forgive me God for being arrogant enough to believe that any amount of worry or my own actions could do anything about something that only your power can fix.

Replenish my mind and body with restful sleep so that I am equipped to face tomorrow.  Place people in my life that will be physical points of contact to encourage me and demonstrate your compassion.  Make me strong by relying on your power because without it, I am nothing.  Help me to trust that you know what’s best for me, you hold my future and that everything is working for my good.  Despite what I am going through, give me a real smile God.  Let me feel your embrace when there is no one to console me in these dark moments.  Help me to maintain all that you have entrusted to me as I go through this.  Allow my adversity to have purpose by showing others, you will give us peace as we go through.  I pray for these things that you may be exalted and all will see how great You are.

Amen
