The Sister Keepers ministry of Central Ga. District hosted “An Evening of Christmas Cheer” at the Ft. Valley Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center in Ft. Valley Ga. The Facility was caring for 68 residents at the time of the Sister Keepers visit on Christmas Eve.
Some of the active residents played Bingo in the Dining-room, special Door Prizes were given to each winner, until a “full card” was declared. The patients that are confined to their beds were visited by the Sister Keepers Volunteers in each of their rooms and each were given a gift bag and Wished a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Red Tumblers were given to Staff members.
Then we returned to the Dining room area and we all joined in singing Christmas Carols before our departure.
The Gift bags contains: A pair of socks, tooth brush & tooth paste, comb, lotion, shampoo, hair conditioner, body wash and a bar of soap. The Bingo winners had the same items in addition to a bottle of cologne for either male or a female in their bags.
The Residents and the Staff enjoyed the visit and loved their gifts, The Sister Keeper’s Volunteers are excited about bringing Cheer to the residents and look forward to doing it again on next year, we are already collecting items for our “Bags of Cheer”.
