Evangelist Eleanor Thomas, Coordinator, Lady Zellene Smith, First Lady of the Central Georgia District
Greetings, to our By Faith family! Our Sister’s Keeper’s 4th Annual Women’s Conference was held September 21-22, 2018, at the Holiday Inn North, 3953 River Place Drive, Macon, Ga.
Our Sister’s Keeper’s overall theme is “Women Reaching Women” and our topic this year was “WIN! It’s Your Winning Season”. Our theme colors were black and lavender for Friday night’s banquet and a representative from each church was asked to wear white to reverence our memorial candle-lighting tribute. Saturday morning, the casual dress code included lavender t-shirts with black inscriptions and black skirts.
Conference Itinerary:
Friday Night: The speaker was Evangelist Eleanor Thomas of Crossroads Perry Mission, COGBF.
Saturday Morning Panel Discussion: The theme was “The “Full Figured” Women” and we had the following panelists:
Finances……………………….Deaconess Tommie Phillips, Abbeville, COGBF
Healthy Lifestyle………………First Lady Katrice Mackey, Faith Babies Ministries, COGBF
Spiritual Walk………………….Deaconess Jackie Whitehead, Oglethorpe, COGBF
Our Conference outline consisted of a Friday evening Registration/Meet & Greet from 4-6pm, a candle-lighting processional, and banquet beginning at 7pm, and a guest speaker.
A guest room was available after Friday’s night banquet for fellowship and refreshments. The room was packed continuously with sisters laughing, singing, talking and enjoying the extra allotted time for fellowship with each other. They enjoyed popcorn, salad, turkey sandwiches with lettuce and tomatoes, chips, coffee, and iced tea. Currently, our goal is to acquire a larger fellowship area so we can encourage our sisters to get to know each other outside of our personal circle of friends. This time together proved to be an excellent alternative to leaving the banquet and going straight to our rooms.
On Saturday morning, a buffet breakfast was served at 7am, followed by checkout. From 9am to 11:15 am, our Morning Glory service took place which included Prayer & Praise, Panel Discussions, a Question & Answer Forum, and Consecrated Prayer for the prayer oil and prayer clothes. They were then distributed to all present and sent to anyone sick back at the local churches. We then had a half hour break for group pictures. At 11:45 am, we began our closing ceremony with fun, games, and ticket drawings for gifts.
Following the gift, drawing was our icebreaker, Special Guest” Motha OldaMae (Minister Jessica Bentley) from Solid Rock Of Praise, Ocilla, Ga. Motha uses her plunger cane to plunge people, not toilets!” Motha OldaMae’s slogan is: There is a Time to LAUGH, for it is Curable and Good MEDICINE that can SAVE YOUR SOUL* #Live.Laugh.Love #MyGiftMakingRoom, #Doyouneedareleasinginyourlife??
We closed the Conference on Saturday Evening with presentations, remarks, prayer, and our theme song: “Reach out and touch somebody’s hand, make this world a better place ~Yes WE Can…Reach out and touch somebody’s hand and make this world a better place ~Yes WE Can”
The Lord truly poured out His Spirit. Our banquet host, an employee of the hotel, was so touched that she stopped serving and gave an awesome testimony. That testimony caused fire to leap all across the room as we began to praise our God. At that moment, we realized that God had been preparing us and getting us ready for His overflow. We now know that we will WIN and everything connected to us WINS! I truly believe we all went home blessed, relieved, refreshed, powered-up and ready to do a BETTER work for the Lord. We are truly our Sister’s Keeper.
