As Women in the Ministry, what are you asking God for in 2021? We have here an opportunity to begin something new---a new year, a new you! I know we all are asking God to end this pandemic that is on the land. And perhaps, individually, you are ready for a fresh start. In Isaiah 43:18-19, the word of God brings comfort from Israel's restoration, "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland." (Isaiah 43:18-19 NIV)
In the word of God, we see that Jesus met many people who longed for a new beginning. To the blind (John 9:6-7), the lame (John 5:6-9), and the lepers (Luke 5:12-16). He gave physical healing. Through a word or a touch, they were suddenly able to see, walk, and live a new life, a new beginning. Jesus also brought spiritual healing to the Samaritan woman at the well, which had a history of broken relationships. Jesus offered her living water, the water of life, which is the spiritual refreshment that comes into her soul after her encounter and confession with Jesus. To Nicodemus the religious leader, Jesus explained how to be born again.
Jesus extends this invitation to all. Through His sacrificial death and resurrection, we are given a new identity and a new life. Women of God, are you craving for a fresh start? You can be assured that true and lasting change is available to all at the feet of Jesus. Let us make the decision that will give you a new life, a new identity, and a new purpose in Jesus.
