"Peace," what is it? Peace is a gift from God. If you were to define it in the dictionary it would say freedom from disturbance, tranquility. Peace in Hebrew means "Siloh" meaning be whole, be safe. Jesus is the only one who can bring us peace. Peace must begin in our hearts. We are assured that we can have peace with God. Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. (Rom 5:1)

When Jesus came down from heaven, the price was paid for us to have a relationship with God. In John 14:27a we find that we have peace with God, "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you". Even in fear and troubles Jesus stood in the midst of it and said " Peace be unto you" (John 20:19). We must guard our heart with God's peace, we have the security of God's peace. (Philippians 4:7).

And the peace of God which passeth all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. When the Holy Spirit is present in our hearts, we have peace. Peace is the word of God. As people of God, we must believe and receive the peace God has given us when we accept salvation. We must exercise what we have through faith. As we continue in the year 2022 there seems to be no peace in the land, but I assure you that as Christians we can proclaim that we have peace that the world can never give.
