On Saturday, February 16, 2019, the Palatka District Sisterhood hosted our third annual prayer breakfast. Our theme: ”Women Worshipping in the Beauty of Holiness” with a scripture reference from Psalms 29:1-2 which states, “Give unto the Lord, O ye mighty, give unto the Lord glory and strength. Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.”
Many of us only see each other during our district meetings, and we worship in a sanctuary setting, but can we still worship Him during a breakfast? Yes, we can, and we certainly did!
We opened with the song “What A Mighty God We Serve”. This was a fitting song because we are to worship and praise Him like He is a mighty and wonderful God. We can do nothing without Him. In fact, the very air we breathe is His.
Our guest speaker was Minister Dr. Leticia Hardy of Temple COGBF, Ocala, FL. She came to us with a mighty, rhema word. She asked us the following three questions:
- How do we worship God in the beauty of Holiness when the church is under attack? - Scriptures: 1 Peter 4:12-13, Matthew 24: 10-12
- How do I worship God in the beauty of holiness when I am under attack? - Scriptures: Revelation 12:11, Romans 12:21
- How do you worship God when all you have done seems to be unnoticed and unrewarded? - Scriptures: 1 Corinthians 15:58, Hebrew 10:35-37
Then, after we were fed spiritually, we feasted on a meal fit for a Queen.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 tells us, “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” We definitely received a seasoned word for this time. Just as apples and oranges grow during their season, let us take this seasoned word and GROW.
To God be the glory for all that He has done! We are grateful for the fellowship of our sisters from Georgia as well as those of various other churches who shared this day with us. We learned more about one another so that we will know we are our sister’s keeper and we are stronger together. Let us worship!
Blessings and Favor,
Lady Thelma Lewis
