As my husband and I were traveling down I-16 going to Sunday Morning Service in Dublin, GA, the most amazing thing happened to me as the Lord began to speak to my heart. With the radio on, (some way) His voice overshadowed the sounds on the radio. His still small voice was clear saying, “Spend time with God.” As He spoke to my heart, I listened closely to these words that He said:
"Spending time with Me will ease the pain of whatever you might be going through. Being with Me will leave you refreshed, peaceful and more connected to Me. You will have the confidence in Me to meet your need and that I will take care of everything else."
Humbly, I said “yes Lord, yes Lord,” you are so right. I then confessed that I had mismanaged my time by putting God second. I thank God for getting my attention that Sunday Morning, it was truly a blessing for me. I will never forget that experience, in which a powerful impact was made.
I will continue to honor and take heed to the Word of God. I began to think of times that may give me the opportunity to spend more time with the Lord.
Here are four times that I wish to share that may help others who may have mismanaged their time:
- Instead of hitting the snooze button, use those 5-minutes to meditate on the goodness of the Lord.
- Read a devotional, meditate on a few Bible verses throughout the day and ask God what He’s trying to convey to you.
- Turn off radio or TV and let God speak to you in silence.
- While walking in a park or on a local trail, connect with God through the beauty of nature.
The important thing is that you will be giving God your undivided attention, just you and Him!
