As always, we had a spectacular time at our Women’s Tea this year. The theme was "Miss Overflowing Teapot Pageant.” Seven contestants competed to win the title of "Miss Overflowing Teapot." We had a fantastic skit that consisted of each contestant describing the "tea" she had and then was asked to tip over to reveal the true contents of her heart. The skit was based on Luke 10:38-42; Eph. 5:18, John 4:10 and John 7:38.
The winner of our pageant was Kassaydria Jones (acting as Miss Waterford Connecticut Teacup). Miss Waterford Connecticut characterizes herself as follows: If you tip me over, you will see a cup who strives for “puri-tea” and when I face “adversi-tea” I wait on God prayerfully. I desire “spir
itual maturi-tea” and yet fall short continually. I rely on His grace regularly and Jesus is my sure eternity.
As you can see, it is fitting that Miss Waterford Connecticut is the winner as she is full of salvation. She is not full of herself but is humble and recognizes that in herself she is nothing. Most importantly, she recognizes Jesus as the author and finisher of her faith and does not rely on material things and outward beauty or good works; which has no eternal value.
