The Southeast Alabama Northwest Florida District Women are on the move! The women of Ozark COGBF recently had their Women’s Day program. All of the women were dressed in their white Sunday attire. What a beautiful occasion it was! The theme was “Women in Action for Christ… Order my Steps!” The scripture was Psalms 119:133. “Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.” The mistress of order was Sis. Brittany Rudolph. Lady Mary D. Smith, Sis. Sistrunk, and Sis. D. Morris led the devotional services. Sis. Frances Livingston Barrow presented the welcome and the occasion. The Women’s Choir blessed us with a selection “Order my Steps”, Sis. Sue Jackson blew us away with her soul-filled voice.
There was a beautiful liturgical dance from Trinity Powerhouse COGBF. The speaker was Lady Brenda Blackmon Jones. She spoke an awesome word, “Women in Action: Stay on the Path.” Lady Jones encouraged us by letting us know that God has ordered our steps! We have to fit into the path he has customized for us. She challenged us to accept our call. She stated, “You all have to get past the hurt in order to be the women that God has commanded us to be.”
She told us the way to stay on the path is to GET IN THE WORD! She challenged us to get in the word at least 30 mins a day. She stated, “One of the biggest problems in the body of Christ is that we aren’t sure of our identity. We adopt the identity that others give to us.” In order to be women in action we must know who we are and who we belong to. She inspired us by letting us know that they Holy Ghost is the most important tool to staying on the path. In her closing she stated, “Listen, Obey, and Stay on the Path.” Min. Thurma Dubose led the altar call and prayer.
The women of this local assembly worked hard to raise funds to repair the ceiling in the historic Ozark COGBF, the first church founded on the Alabama District in 1945. Sis. Christine Yates, the Christian Board of Education President, led this effort. The women of this local assembly raised close to $8,000.00 for this project. The women are working hard to make sure their church stay in line with the COGBF performance standards! To God be the GLORY!
