  1. Do a staycation
    • You can set your house up to be a vacation at home.
    • You can get a hotel room with a pool for the family. Because so many people are not traveling like they use too, you can have the hotel pretty much to yourselves. Hotels have implemented a lot of safety precautions like check-in and out from your cellular phone and the ability to open your room from an app on your cellular phone. They have also implemented safer pool cleaning precautions.

2. Do bike riding or walking together- Getting sun exposure is essential!!!!

  • Getting sun exposure is extremely important for your health. We receive vitamin D from sun exposure, and research shows a linkage between conditions and vitamin D deficiency. Such conditions are depression, fatigue, and hypertension. So, make a family outing of walking, riding bikes, or horseback riding. You would be bonding as a family and getting vitamin D all at the same time!!!
  1. Set a day aside to do a family Zoom meeting, family Facebook meeting room, or facetime.
    • One thing this pandemic has done is to connect families. My family does a family zoom once a week, and it includes people from all over the United States. It’s a mini family reunion every week. So, take advantage of technology to increase your family interactions and bonding time.
  1. Go to a movie on the lawn or drive-through safaris. Get innovative with family time!!!!

A Night in the Wild!!!!

  1. Make sure that no matter what, you have a COVID-19 ‘Stay Well Kit” which includes
    • Hand sanitizer
    • Bleach wipes (Can’t locate wipes? No big deal. You can make some. That can be a family project)
    • Lysol
    • Mask or face shield
    • Bottled water (Staying hydrated is extremely important!!)

Lastly, have family summertime FUN in the SUN!!!!
