Sears Street Love in Action was honored to host the 27th year of the Senior Supper. The Senior Supper was a success. We had seniors from all over Georgia. It was such a blessing to see them all in attendance. Pastor Vera Freeman from All About Saving Souls in Douglas, Georgia; Pastor Curtis Jones from COGBF in Valdosta, Georgia; and Pastor Bobby Harris from Ebenezer Baptist Church in Willacoochee, Georgia, attended. Deacon Billy Jo Millings gave an inspiring speech in recognition of Black History Month. Everything was awesome.

Many years ago, God laid on my heart to start the Senior Supper. I never dreamed that it would last for twenty-seven years, but when God is in something, He does it right! I have been so blessed to be able to serve them.

The attendance for this event has grown through the years. We started in our church kitchen. Soon enough, we outgrew the church kitchen and moved to the former building that house the Western Sizzlin in Douglas. Again, attendance grew, and We were blessed to need and find a larger restaurant.

We moved to the former building that housed Wong’s Palace in Douglas. Wong’s Palace was a nice restaurant, but we were unable to sit together as a group and fellowship. Thankfully, by this time, our Youth Center was completed, and we could start hosting the Senior Supper in there.

We survived through the pandemic of COVID in 2020. The people stayed in their cars, and we served them like “car hops” at a drive-in restaurant. The servers went to each car to serve and fellowship with them.

It is amazing how God blessed me to keep going forward. People have been attending this dinner from as far as New York, Florida, and California. I pray that every church or district takes time to honor the elderly. The elderly will bless you because the love they give to you is genuine.

My name is Doctor Bobbie Jordan. I invite you to join Sears Street Love In Action Ministries to honor our elderly.
